Kroger offers a 5 to 10 percent discount weekly or monthly. Senior citizen discounts vary depending on the location of the store. Kroger has over 2,600 grocery stores nationwide. Kroger convenience store banners are located in 19 states.

Kroger announced a change in its senior discount policy for several locations, including approximately 97 food stores in Lexington and surrounding areas, as well as Nashville, Tennessee and its surrounding areas in 2014. Discounts, which were 10 percent monthly, were changed to 5 percent weekly starting on Thursdays for these locations. Other locations offer the 10 percent discount for seniors on a specific day of the month.
