Set up a Microsoft wireless mouse by first downloading and installing the IntelliPoint Software on your computer. In some cases, the mouse comes bundled with an installation CD. Also ensure that you insert batteries in your wireless mouse.

The Microsoft wireless mouse has a receiver that is inserted to any of the USB ports on your computer. Ensure that a confirmation dialogue box is displayed of a successful installation of the wireless mouse and receiver. In the event the USB receiver fails to install successfully, restart your computer, and reconnect it to a different port. Once installed, run the IntelliPoint Software and set your mouse settings to suit your scrolling needs.
