Steve Siebold, an author and expert in the field of critical thinking, states that "Every Teacher in America Should Have a Gun," according to The Huffington Post headline. It is an opinion that has gained in popularity in the wake of shocking school shootings in the United States. Siebold insists that teachers with firearms can protect children and save lives.
Bill Bond does not agree that educators must be armed; the experienced high school principal explains that teachers and administrators are not prepared to be armed security officers. Bill Bond was principal of Heath High School in Paducah, Kentucky, in 1997, when a student opened fire. The attack left three students dead and five injured.
