For a good and comfortable trip, a person should consider a generator that is rated at 3,500 watts and above. The size depends on the number of electrical products a person has in their recreational vehicle.
To determine the proper size generator for an RV, first calculate the amount of power needed. Determine the number of electronics that will run from the generator. Then find out the number of electronics that use 120 volts. The television, microwave and air conditioner are some of the items to consider. Finally, determine the number of products that will run at the same time.
