A piece of ledger paper is twice the size of standard letter paper. This size of paper conforms to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) ASME Y14.1 standard, which defines sizes of paper based on an 8 1/2 inch by 11 inch sheet. These sizes are used in the United States. In Mexico and Canada, they appear along with the ISO standard sizes.
