What is Skype?

Skype is a video chatting and voice call software that works on desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, and some televisions. It requires an Internet connection, a web cam, and a microphone to use. It also functions as a simple chat messaging tool similar to AOL instant messenger or Google Chat.
