Who is Slender Man?

Slenderman is a fictional character created by Eric Knudsen for a Photoshop contest in 2009 by the website Something Awful. The aim of the contest was to use Photoshop to create fake images that depicted paranormal activities with the intention of fooling paranormal websites.

The original images of Slenderman were two black-and-white pictures featuring children, one appearing to show a strange figure lurking in the background. Something Awful users then started creating their own stories featuring Slenderman, a faceless figure in a dark suit, usually tormenting children. He has since appeared in short stories, video games and various media on Internet.
