Where is solar energy located?

Solar energy comes directly from the sun. It is light and heat captured from the sun that can be used for heating, electricity, photovoltaic energy and artificial photosynthesis.

In one hour, the sun gives off more energy than the entire world uses in one year. Even so, only 10 percent of the world’s energy comes from the sun. One of solar energy’s disadvantages is that the amount and intensity of sunlight varies depending on location. Parts of the world receive more sun than others, thus receive higher energy amounts. One of the advantages of solar energy is that it is completely renewable and does not contribute to greenhouse gases.
