Maltipoos are a cross between a toy or miniature poodle and a Maltese. The Maltipoo was originally bred to create a hypoallergenic dog. Both parent breeds are non-shedding dogs. Most Maltipoos are non-shedding, low-dander dogs.
Maltipoos need to be brushed daily but do not need to be regularly clipped like poodles do. They have a tendency to develop dental decay and need their teeth brushed daily. The Maltipoo is an active, easily trained dog that makes an excellent companion. Maltipoos do have a tendency to bark. Most mature Maltipoos weigh around 10 pounds and are white or cream in color.
