Boris Becker won his first Wimbledon tournament in 1985, at the age of 17. His Wimbledon victory earned Becker the title of the youngest men's champion in the history of tennis.

After making a big name for himself as a young professional with his Wimbledon victory in 1985, Becker won five additional Grand Slam championships and accumulated 49 career singles titles. Becker, who was born in Leimen, Germany, in 1967, began playing tennis competitively at the age of 8. He turned pro in 1984 and beat eighth-seeded player Kevin Curran in four sets to attain his first Wimbledon win. Becker also won Wimbledon in 1986 and 1989.
