When did the first Edwin Watts Golf store open?

The inaugural Edwin Watts Golf store opened in 1963 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. As the head professional at a new course, Edwin sought the help of his brother, Wayne, and they opened the pro shop together.

The shop was inspired by Edwin's idea to additionally offer high-quality golf clubs in an era where most pro shops offered just shirts and gloves. Within just one year, success of the merchandising tactic enabled Edwin to hire others that shared his passion and the brand expanded. As of 2015, the company boasts 85 stores in 20 states offering the latest premium and bargain-priced golf equipment, apparel and accessories. Most shops include indoor hitting areas and putting greens.
