What is an M86?

The M86 is a bolt-action sniper rifle originally built by the McMillan corporation and later by Harris Gunworks. Both companies have now ceased production of the rifle, but the gun remains in service with the U.S. Navy SEALS and Delta Force.
The M86 is available in a variety of calibers. It is most commonly chambered for the 7.65mm by 51mm North Atlantic Treaty Organization round. Its versatile design also accommodates the longer and more powerful .300 and .338 caliber magnum ammo. Depending on what ammunition is used, the M86 can be equipped with either an internal 5-round magazine or a 10-cartridge external box clip. It is a relatively lightweight rifle thanks to its fiberglass frame.
