What is SR 22 form?

An SR-22 form is a Certificate of Financial Responsibility form. This form is required as proof of proper car insurance for individuals under certain circumstances.
If you reside in the United States, the department of state requires that you have an SR-22 or FR-44 as legal proof of auto insurance liability coverage if you have been convicted of certain driving-related violations. Some of these violations include DUI and DWI convictions, reckless driving and accidents caused by uninsured drivers. Most drivers do not need to have any type of CFR. Drivers that do need the form are usually notified of the requirement by the state's department of motor vehicles.
