Standard wood moulding profiles include base cap, cove and crown. Each moulding profile is typically available in a wide array of sizes and wood types, and many suppliers custom-make them to order depending on the desired application.

Base cap moulding is usually added to floor baseboards to give flooring a stylish or complete look. Many base cap styles are designed specifically to add complexity or to replicate a certain architectural style.

Cove moulding features a concave profile and is generally installed on inside corners to hide joints where walls and ceilings meet. It can also be applied on fireplace mantles and shelves.

Crown moulding covers the joint between the ceiling and the wall, and is often installed in rooms with high ceilings. The moulding is applied at an angle and can have a dramatic effect depending on the selected color scheme of the room.
