What are the steps to raising a number to the third power?
By Forinfos - 13/06/2025 - 0 comments
Raising a number to the third power means multiplying that number by itself two times. The power to which a number is raised is called the exponent and is a shorthand way of noting how many times the base number is multiplied by itself.
An easy way to visualize raising a number to its third power, or having a number with an exponent of three, is by breaking the problem down into pieces. To raise the number two to its third power, simply multiply two by itself twice. So, because 2 x 2 = 4 and 4 x 2 = 8, raising two to the third power equals eight.
