What are some stereotypes of the Irish?

Stereotypes about Irish people include they all drink a lot, they all have red hair and they all have a mean temper. Although some stereotypes are truer than others, many are simply false.
Generally, the Irish, like any other group of people, fall into specific stereotypes, some of which are true, while others are not. For example, according to Huffington Post, only about 10 percent of the Irish population has red hair. Another common stereotype, unknown in origin, says that the Irish are more articulate than the residents of many other countries. This, of course, is not true and in fact, 1 in 4 Irish adults has a hard time in math, reading and writing.
