In 2013 Fiat announced that it was pursuing a public stock offering for its Chrysler subsidiary. The announcement stated that the stock would be listed on the New York Stock Exchange. The ticker symbol planned for that issue is CGC. Chrysler has been a publicly traded company in the past. From 1925 through 1998 it was known as the Chrysler Corporation and was listed under the ticker symbol C. Following its merger with Daimler Benz in 1998, it traded under the ticker symbol DCX until 2007.
