What is Stonehenge made of?

Stonehenge is a famous historical site that features stone circles made primarily of sandstone and bluestones. Each arc of the circle was created by stacking massive stones on top of each other.
Stonehenge dates back to prehistoric times, and is located in England. The circle is so well-known because of the little background that is known about it. The civilization that built it is no longer around, and construction techniques to move around heavy stones were not thought to be invented until much later. Finally, while many theories have been proposed, no one knows what the purpose (if any) of Stonehenge actually is.
