To keep Windows Installer from popping up, install and run Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. The download for the tool is available on the Microsoft website. Users are walked through the tool's setup by an installation wizard.

Programs that did not install properly can cause the Windows Installer to repeatedly pop up. The cleanup tool helps to fix corrupt registry keys, resolve problems that prevent programs from being installed, and resolves problems with uninstalling programs through the Control Panel.

The cleanup utility is available on Windows versions XP and up. It is strictly for resolving problems with Windows-based programs such as Microsoft Visual Studio.
