What is the strongest insect?

The strongest insect known to man is the Onthophagus taurus, a species of horned dung beetle, which is capable of moving objects that weigh 1,141 times more than the bug itself does. As the name indicates, these beetles do move animal dung, though they are not the kind that roll the dung into a ball.

The Onthophagus taurus beetle instead tends to bury the dung it collects, which usually comes from cows. The female of the species is mostly responsible for doing this, creating long, dug-out and dung-filled tunnels in which they lay their eggs. The males have a potentially equally difficult job, using their horns to fight other males for dominance.
