Neurosarcoidosis symptoms vary depending on the part of the brain or nervous system affected, states Medline Plus. For instance, a part of the brain that controls stress responses, sleep or temperature may be affected.
Any involvement of the brain or cranial nerves may cause symptoms such as confusion, dementia, vertigo or seizures, according to Medline Plus. Other possible symptoms of neurosarcoidosis include headache, facial palsy and loss of smell. Neurosarcoidosis is rare and a complication of sarcoidosis. The spinal cord, nerves in the face or pituitary gland may be affected. An MRI of the brain or a biopsy of the affected area can be helpful in confirming the condition.
