Jackie Kennedy was 5 feet and 7 1/2 inches tall. She was born Jacqueline Lee Bouvier, the daughter of John Bouvier, an affluent New York stockbroker, and Janet Norton Lee, a successful equestrian.

Kennedy became accomplished at a very young age. She was only 11 years old when she won a national junior horsemanship competition in 1940. Later on, Kennedy attended Vassar College, where she spent her junior year studying in Paris. Instead of returning to Vassar for her senior year, she transferred to Georgetown University. From there, she graduated with a B.A. in French Literature. Kennedy spoke French, Spanish and Italian fluently.
