Flyaways are dry hairs with split ends that stick out from your head. Taming flyaways is a way to look polished and well-kept. To tame flyaways, you need a soft T-shirt or paper towels, a wide-toothed comb, styling cream, a heat protecting serum, a blow dryer and hand lotion.
- Start with damp hair
After showering, remove excess water from hair with a soft t-shirt or paper towels. Pat lightly, and never rub the hair against itself.
- Comb gently
Use a wide-toothed comb to untangle your hair. Pull the comb through the hair softly to prevent breakage.
- Apply styling cream
Apply a styling cream that matches your hair type. For fine hair, use an anti-frizz formula. For coarse hair, use a hydrating oil. Use your fingers to pull the styling aid through your hair and massage it into the ends.
- Add a heat protecting serum as you dry hair
Use your fingers to apply a heat protecting serum to your hair. Dry hair with a blow dryer.
- Use hand lotion for touch-ups
For flyaways that occur during the day, squeeze a small amount of hand lotion into your palms, then rub your hands together, and use the moisture to pat down strays.
