Which team has never been relegated?

As of 2014, only seven teams in the English Premier League — Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Arsenal — have never been relegated. In the 2011-2012 season, these teams finished in the top seven positions. Only the bottom three teams of the 20-team league are relegated.

The English Premier League began in 1992 after the founding 20 teams resigned from the Football League. The Premier League was formed to take advantage of new TV contracts that would increase revenues at each club. According to reports from the 2009-2010 season, only four out of the 20 teams in the Premier League recorded a profit.
