How do you get the MAC address of a PC?

Finding the MAC address of a network device depends on which operating system it uses. For computers and devices that run modern versions of Windows, the ipconfig utility of the command prompt displays the MAC addresses and other network information.

The ipconfig utility may display multiple MAC addresses if the computer has multiple network cards. For Linux and Unix systems, entering the command "ifconfig -a" in the terminal window returns the MAC addresses. The MAC addresses are also listed during the boot message sequence.
