"TBH" is shorthand meaning “to be honest.” TBH is sometimes used on Facebook as “like for TBH,” meaning that if a user likes a post, the user who receives the like is expected to write something back using TBH, such as “TBH, I value your opinion.”

TBH is one of the most commonly used shorthand terms and keeps the same meaning on all social media sites as well as text messages. “To be honest” is sometimes also abbreviated as “TBO," but this is not often used. TBH has a few less common meanings including “to be hated” and "The Black Hand,” the name of a guild.
