What is WPA2 Enterprise?

WPA2-Enterprise is one of two types of WPA2 protection in which a user gains access to a protected network via server verification. The WPA2 security framework implements government-grade security by using AES-based encryption and authentication based on 802.1x standards.

The WPA2, short for Wi-Fi Protected Access 2, is the successor to the WPA protection system. The WPA2-Personal's security feature limits networks by using a preset password for authentication. At both enterprise and personal levels, the WPA2 offers a stronger degree of network access control and data protection for wireless networks. The WPA2 is designed based on the IEEE 802.11i security standard.
