Does teething cause fever?
By Forinfos - 06/11/2025 - 0 comments
A baby's temperature may increase to less than 102 degrees Farhenheit during teething, but the increase only occurs the day before and the day of the baby's tooth erupting through the gum, according to WebMD. A fever over 102 degrees F signals the baby is ill.
Teething babies commonly suck, drool, bite, rub their gums and are irritable, notes WebMD. A caregiver should seek medical attention for a teething baby who has diarrhea and a high fever. Symptoms including a runny nose, coughing, vomiting and reduced urination are not signs of teething, and a pediatrician should be contacted when they occur.
