How does a tempered glass screen protector work?

A tempered glass screen protector is a multi-layered screen protector that offers scratch and impact protection to a phone or tablet screen. It is normally easier to install and sturdier than the traditional plastic screen protective films.
Tempered glass screen protectors consist of several layers: a layer of absorbent silicon, a PET film, a layer of tempered glass and an oleophobic coating.
Tempered glass is thermally and chemically treated to increase its strength compared to normal glass. The tempering process makes the glass up to five times stronger than non-treated glass, which makes it ideal for screen protectors and other demanding applications.
