How do you find the ticker symbols for stocks?

Visit a finance website's stock information page, and enter the name of the company into the appropriate field, notes Marketwatch. Choose the country in which the company is incorporated, and choose the type of investment (in this case, Stock). Then, click Search.

Entering a company's name yields several different options. The Symbol column indicates that company's stock ticker symbol on a variety of markets. For example, PepsiCo stock trades under the symbol PEP on the New York Stock Exchange and as PPSTF for over-the-counter stock purchases of its Philippine subsidiary.
