How do you tie dye nails?

To tie dye nails, clean the nails, paint them with a base color, and dot the nails with at least two other colors. Remove the excess polish, let the nails dry, and apply a clear topcoat.

1. Clean the nails, and apply the base color

   Soak a cotton ball in nail polish remover, and wipe the cotton against your nails to remove any paint and dirt. Dab a nail brush in the base color polish, and apply a thick layer to one of your nails. Cover the entire surface of the nail with polish.

2. Apply the other colors

   Use the end of the nail brush to apply five drops of the remaining colors to your nail. Pull a toothpick over the drops to swirl the colors. To avoid muddying the colors, don't swirl them too much.

3. Remove the excess polish, and paint the remaining nails

   Press your thumb against the edges of the dyed nail to remove excess polish. Paint the other nails, and let them dry.

4. Clean the skin, and apply the topcoat

   Soak a cotton swab in nail polish remover, and swab the skin around the nails to clean off leftover polish. Finally, apply a thin layer of clear topcoat to the dyed nails. Let the topcoat dry.
