To tint mason jars, mix food coloring with a small amount of water and a few tablespoons of Mod Podge. Pour the solution into the mason jars, swirl it, and then drain the jars. Dry the jars in an oven to seal the color.
- Prepare the color
Mix food coloring and a tablespoon of water in a small bowl. Pour 2 tablespoons of Mod Podge into the jar, and add the prepared color. Stir the solution thoroughly.
- Coat the jar in color
Hold the jar over a bowl, and carefully swirl the solution to coat the inside of the jar. Drain the excess solution into the bowl, and then place the jar upside-down onto a sheet of newspaper. Allow the jar to dry for 30 minutes.
- Seal the color
Cover a cookie sheet in wax paper, and then place the jars upside-down on the cookie sheet. Put the sheet in the oven, and heat the oven to 200 degrees. After oven-drying the jars for 10 minutes, turn them over and dry them an additional 25 minutes. Take the jars out of the oven, and examine the jars for discoloration. If any streaks are visible, oven-dry the jars until the streaks disappear.
