What are some tips for caring for a primrose flower?

Plant primroses in areas of the garden that receive light shade. You can also start them from seed indoors and then bring them out to the garden after they've developed their second or third mature leaves. Another option is to grow primroses from cuttings.

Be sure to drain the soil well and enrich it with rotted manure before planting the primroses. After you install the plants, water them deeply and then mulch them to retain moisture and keep the soil from getting too hot in the summers. Make sure not to overwater the plants.

During the growing season, give the plants some organic fertilizer, and make sure to deadhead the plants and remove dead or diseased leaves. Deter pests with insecticidal soap.
