What are some tips for visiting Tallulah Falls in Georgia?

Visitors to Tallulah Falls should first stop in at the Visitor Information Center to obtain a free gorge floor permit to access the 20 miles of hiking and biking trails. However, permits are limited, so arrive early in the morning to ensure that permits are still available.

Gorge overlooks and a suspension bridge provide the best views of the waterfalls. In addition to viewing the six waterfalls that run through Tallulah Gorge, visitors can enjoy camping, fishing, archery and hunting. Adventurous visitors can engage in whitewater kayaking when water is released from the dam. This occurs in April and November and is advised for experienced kayakers only.
