The richness of potassium in tomatoes is another benefit to eating this hearty fruit. Tomatoes are low in calories and commonly referred to as a vegetable. Tomatoes can be found on the market label as organic, hybrid or genetically modified. Two types of tomatoes are heirloom tomatoes and cherry tomatoes.
