When was the Toyota Matrix discontinued?

The Toyota Matrix was last produced in 2013. In 2014, Toyota decided to remove the model from its line of vehicles due to insufficient sales.

Toyota introduced the Matrix to the U.S. automotive market in 2002 for customers seeking an alternative to the smaller Corolla. In its first year, Toyota sold over 66,000 Matrix vehicles in the United States; however, sales decreased in the following years. By 2012, Matrix sales had dropped to around 4,300 units. The Matrix's poor market performance has been attributed to a lack of promotion and advertisement and a surge in the production of the Corolla.
