What do track builders do?

Companies that operate as track builders design and build tracks for motorcross and supercross sports. Tracks are generally unpaved and contain sharp turns, jumps and hills that serve as obstacles during the motorcross event.

The track design portion of the building process usually involves making a 2-D computer model of the track so that both the customer and contractor can envision it. During the construction portion, the area where the track is to be built is surveyed for utility lines or other underground structures. Then, the area is cleared of trees and undergrowth. Finally, the contractor builds the track, along with any necessary drainage to keep it free of standing water.
