What is trayapp.msi?

The "trayapp.msi" file is part of Hewlett-Packard's Photosmart Digital Imaging Software. It is commonly installed on a computer with new HP printer software, though it may come pre-installed on HP brand computers as well.

An error can occur when the software itself fails to install properly, or becomes corrupted, and a reoccurring pop-up window may ask for a disc containing the file. Reinstalling the software that came along with the newest HP printer, scanner or camera and then restarting the computer should clear up the repeating message. If the disc is unavailable, the HP website has the necessary software available for download.
