How do you turn off a television's parental control setting?

To turn off a television's parental control setting, unlock the locked channels or unblock the program ratings. Enter the correct password in the locking mechanism of the unit to turn off the parental control setting.

To unlock all the channels on a television, hit Settings on the television remote and choose General Settings. Now, choose Block: PIN. This alters the programming lock. Then press Select or OK, browse the list and choose Enable. Finally, hit Select or OK.

To unblock program ratings, again choose General Settings and go to Block: Ratings. Take the cursor to the rating to be unlocked and hit Select or OK. Enter the password and press OK or Select to unblock those ratings.
