What are two properties of amorphous solids?

Two properties of amorphous solids include the arrangement of constituent particles and their isotropic nature. In amorphous solids, the particles are arranged in a regular manner only in a small area. This is known as short-range order.
However, in amorphous solids, the particles are not arranged in a regular manner apart from the short-range order. Furthermore, the particles are irregular in shape.
In amorphous solids, various physical properties such as thermal expansion and electrical conductivity are the same in all directions, much like in gases and liquids. This kind of behavior is called isotropy, and, therefore, amorphous solids are described as being isotropic.
