How to type exponents in a Word document?

To type exponents in a Microsoft Word document, select the exponent number. Click the Home tab, and choose the Superscript option.
- Select the number
Type the exponent behind the number or variable. Leave a space before and after the character that should be an exponent. Select the number you want to be an exponent.
- Click on the Home tab
Open the Home toolbar by clicking on the Home tab at the top of the screen.
- Click the Superscript option
Click the Superscript option, which is in the Font group of buttons on the Home toolbar. This makes the number appear as an exponent.
