Fans gave it higher ratings than critics. Most critics felt that the movie fell short of the other films in the franchise. The movie starred Mark Wahlberg and Jack Reynor and was directed by Michael Bay. The science fiction movie is rated PG-13 and on the opening weekend, it brought in over $100 million, which was half of the budget used to make the movie. It was released on June 27, 2014.
