What type of skin do amphibians have?

The skin of amphibians is soft, thin and glandular. The only amphibians that possess scales are some of the caecilians. The skin type of amphibians generally limits their living areas to warm and moist climates.

Caecilians are tropical amphibians. They look like large worms due to being without both legs and arms. Some, but not all, of the species have fish-like scales. The colors of the caecilian are generally yellow, orange, black, gray or brown.

The range of these amphibians in the wild is Argentina, Central Africa, Southeast Asia and the southern part of Mexico. These caecilian live in tunnels in loose soil or in ground debris on rivers, streams or in tropical forests.
