After graduating from welding school, an individual may find work in aerospace, agriculture, construction and general manufacturing, according to the Dallas County Community College District. Trained welders may also work in plumbing and pipeline welding and underwater welding.
Other careers that require skilled welders are automotive manufacture and repair, chemical processing and oil and gas extraction. Skilled welders may also seek careers as welding instructors, welding inspectors or artistic welders.
In 2012, welders earned a median pay of $17.45 an hour, and the job outlook presented a projected growth of six percent from 2012 to 2022, states the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
