What are the types of experimental research designs?
By Forinfos - 26/01/2026 - 0 comments
There are three commonly used types of experimental research designs: independent measures, repeated measures and matched pairs. An experimental design refers to how participants get allocated to different groups within an experiment.
An independent measures design is when each person in the experiment is used in each different condition of the independent variable. A repeated measures design is when the exact same people take part in every condition of the independent variable. The last design type, matched pairs, is when one pair of people is assigned to the control group, while another pair is then assigned to the experimental group.
