What is the typical Mary Quant look?

Mary Quant was a British fashion designer in the 1960s whose clothing epitomized the London mod look. Her trademarks were short miniskirts, patterned stockings and tights, and ribbed turtlenecks.
In 1955, Quant opened Bazaar, a clothing store that catered to young women. The store sold brightly colored separates, A-line tunics and clip-on Peter Pan collars. When the swinging sixties took London by storm half a decade later, Quant became the go-to designer.
While the London youth loved Quant's styles, her predilection for miniskirts provoked ire in the older generations. According to Vogue, the sight of high hemlines reportedly caused passers by to rap on the storefront glass and shout "immoral!"
