How do you uninstall Chrome?

There are several ways to uninstall Chrome depending on the operating system. One simple way of uninstalling the browser from Windows 7 or 8 involves removing it from the list of installed programs in the Control Panel.

  1. Close the browser window

    Click the "X" icon on the top right corner of the Chrome browser window to close it.

  2. Launch Control Panel

    Click the Start Menu, and then click Control Panel on the list that pops up.

  3. Click Uninstall a program

    In the Control Panel window, look for the heading Programs, and click the Uninstall a program link under it.

  4. Double-click Google Chrome

    Look for Google Chrome in the ensuing link, and double-click it.

  5. Click uninstall

    Click uninstall from the confirmation dialog that pops up. Wait for the uninstallation process to complete, and then close the Control Panel window.
