There are approximately 1,800 gas stations bearing the 76 name across the United States. The company rebranded the stations, once known as Union 76, in 2005 to reflect the new name as the result of a merger of the original owner, Union Oil Company of California, with the Chevron Corporation.

The company maintains a station locator on its website, 76.com, that lets visitors find local 76 stations, as of 2015. To use the tool, visitors click on Station Finder from the home page, and then enter a street, city and ZIP and select a state from the drop-down menu before choosing a distance for the search and clicking Search.
