United Airlines regulations state that cats, rabbits, birds and small dogs can travel in the cabin of most United Airlines flights within the United States. Service animals can fly in the cabin on all flights. United Airlines has a PetSafe program to transport pets not allowed in the aircraft cabin.

United Airlines requires advance reservations for pets traveling on a flight. Passengers can book reservations for pets on a space-available basis. Pets traveling in the aircraft cabin must be in an approved pet kennel and must remain in them when on the plane. All pets must travel with the passenger responsible with them. No pet is allowed to travel with an unaccompanied minor.
