Is UPMC's Infonet secure?
By Forinfos - 07/11/2025 - 0 comments
The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center employs three levels of security measures to ensure that Infonet, a site for UPMC staff, is secure. To log in to Infonet, users need to enter their E-Sign-On ID and password. UPMC advises users to keep their passwords private and change these passwords frequently.
The Infonet uses Secure Sockets Layer protocol to encrypt information during transmission. Before the transmission, the browser encrypts the information using a public key; after the transmission, the web server uses a private key to decrypt the received information. In addition, UPMC protects its servers using firewall and encryption technologies that are compliant with industry standards.
